Thursday, July 5: Procrastination or Delay?
Today I cleaned under the bed. Which is fair because it is project day, and it did in fact need to be done. But I had plans. I wanted to work on my summer projects today. It's been a few days where I haven't managed me meet my goals, so I started to do some serious reflection.
My conclusion: Doing this project was important and I'm glad I did it. But I've also been procrastinating and there are reasons for that: I haven't been doing my morning scheduling. I made a printable schedule that I just need to fill out. It's less work but maybe for that very reason I've been forgetting to do it. And when I wrote up my tasks for today I didn't include the exact chapter or page. While it should be possible to work without exact details, it isn't. The morning admin would have caught that but it didn't.
So what's my plan? I want to replace dishes with morning scheduling as the very first thing I do in the morning. I'm not sure I can, but I'm going to try. I'm unsure because I know how much difference getting the kitchen into good order first thing means for my day.
I made it to a counselling appointment, which is a good start on working on my depression.
I did my weekly project!
I visited with my best friend.
And I supported my wife when she wasn't feeling well.
I didn't work on my summer projects.
I didn't run the dinner dishes, so we are a bit behind.

What went well today
I did most of the basic chores! Sweeping, pickup, unloading dishwasher, and checking bathroom for clutter.I made it to a counselling appointment, which is a good start on working on my depression.
