Vacuuming day.

I'm modelling my blog on Dana K White's "A Slob Comes Clean" Blog. At least I'm modelling it on the first year. She runs through the tasks that she does every day and I'm going to do that too.

This morning I put away the dishes with my fiancee. I ate breakfast (a new habit I am trying to develop.) My fiancee left and I put on a podcast and moved everything off the floor in the bedroom and den, vacuumed, and put everything back. I often forget to put things back, but today I remembered.

I prepared lunch and then set a 40 minute timer to relax. I have never been a very disciplined person until now. Now I have all these new systems and routines in my head and it is much easier to see what needs to be done and also do it. But that has meant down time has become harder. So I'm learning that too.

I like to write little routine scripts. I call them algorithms. Let's try one for relaxing. I like to start with a weird question to distract myself from my existential dread.

RELAXATION ROUTINE
0. What does it mean to relax?
1. Set a time
2.  Gather supplies (tea, book, snack. Anything I'm forgetting?)
3. Set timer again
4. Until the timer goes off I am not to work or do chores.

I also had a call with my friend. I had forgotten about it. We agreed to work on Ancient Greek together. Now I have a buddy to work with.

I got up to school late and decided not to study for my quiz because I was still feeling under socialised. So instead I planned out a web comic I am writing with a friend.

Then class.

After class I came home. I planned to immediately print off material for the latin I needed to prepare, but I ended up chatting with my fiancee. But it turned out I had already printed what I needed so I prepared a snack and did my Latin.  I have a routine for that too, here is the master algorithm for it. I'll post the whole thing later.

TEXT TRANSLATING ALGORITHM
0. Why prep?
1. Start "Text Prep" Algorithm
2. Start "Quiz Construction" Algorithm
2. Start "Data Insertion" Algorithm
4. Start "Reading" Algorithm"

Today I was feeling a bit lost because I was halfway through the page I was working on. Happily I have this algorithm, so I could look at it and figure out that the next step was creating a grammar quiz.

English: Clay tablet (PY Ub 1318) inscribed with Linear B script...(Read more.)
After that I did Linear B. That's the script that Myceneans Greeks worked in. Linear B Syllable B077 KA.svgLinear B Ideogram B105 Equid.svg

Latin and Linear B were my tasks for the day.

My fiancee and I had dinner and started the dishwasher. Then I hung out while she played video games. I planned out my day for tomorrow.

After that Ι mopped, picked up the house, and checked the bathrooms to make sure there wasn't any clutter.

I didn't practice my entire martial arts routine. I've been struggling with that routine since school started. I think I will try re-adding it to my daily routine on Monday.

I didn't actually study for my quiz in class, but I didn't need to so that was ok.

Messy brain things: I almost chopped up a zucchini for salad instead of a cucumber. I got flustered on the bus and instead of going back to pick up a receipt I dropped I apologised and went upstairs (and spent the rest of the bus ride feeling bad that I had littered). That's all I can think of for now.

So a pretty good day overall.

Tomorrow I plan to: time with my fiancee, work on Linear b, do a page of latin, and start my readings for my class.
